You are not a "leader"
"leaders". "product-leader", "thought-leader" or "team lead". Those words show self-importance and not real, concrete achievements.
Today, the word “leader” has the same meaning and importance than “expert”. Anyone can inflate their ego by adding this word to their resume without any meaningful achievement. You do not need to have a track record at any particular skill to, consider yourself a “leader” or “expert”. It’s free, so many take it without having shown any achievement in this domain.
Instead of focusing on inflated titles, it’s better to focus on facts and focus on achievements. Would you rather listen to:
a PhD in finance if they made no return on their investment
a college dropout who made millions from their investments over 10 years?
Too often, we focus on profiles like the former while the latter is not even on our radar.
Don’t call yourself an expert or leader. Just do something useful and have a track record of achievements worth looking at. This will show what you are good at, shows proof of it and signal how you can help others.
