Nothing Lasts
Love, companies or friendships: everything eventually comes to an end. When something good happens to us, our goal should be to make the best out of it and enjoy it at its fullest while it lasts.
The hard part is to leave while it’s still good, almost at the top, and avoid dragging a falling project or a dying relationship for months or years. Too often, people keep working on a project even when it degrades or gets bad, hoping greatness will come back or trying desperately to milk some last bits of success. This is a losing game: you will not only lose your time, but people will always remember these last painful moments.
You need to stop at the top, before quality erodes. Admit that the best happened and move on to your next venture. There is nothing worse than trying to constantly repair something dying or broken.
Move forward.
